Trigger point dry needling is used for myofascial trigger points. It involves the use of acupuncture needles to stimulate the oxygenation of contracted muscle fibres and fascial tissue.

This reduces the local tension in the tissues, reduces inflammation and improves blood circulation.

Although acupuncture needles are used, this technique is very different. Specific trigger points are diagnosed in the muscle tissue prior to treatment. The goal is to release myofascial trigger points or adhesive soft tissue and fascia.
